"Small town feel just over 15 miles from the " Big City""

Deephaven offers a unique opportunity relative many of its counterparts located around Lake Minnetonka. Deephaven is located on the east side of Lake Minnetonka. Its residents will experience the peace and tranquility of a lakeside town, yet are located only 16 miles from Minneapolis. The cities claim to fame is, arguably, Mahala Dutton-Douglas, a survivor of the Titanic who was married to Walter Donald Douglas (He wasn't so lucky). The Douglas family founded the Quaker Oats Company. I'd be more apt to mention Mr. Tim Herron, Professional Golfer with PGA Tour sins and graduate of Wayzata High School.

Although over 40% of Deephaven residents are 45 years of age or older, most would be surprised to find out, nearly 40% of households have children under the age of 18 living with them. Average income levels are over $100,000. Nearly all real estate in Deephaven caters to the more affluent. Once your in, resale values will traditionally remain stable or increase, as it is a highly sought after community. Welcome home!
Pros
  • East side of lake Minnetonka offers easy commute to downtown
  • quite community
  • Cottagewood General Store
Cons
  • Tangle town of roads makes it cumbersome to navigate
  • Housing prices

"Lakeshore Hamlet"

As a real estate agent, some of the most beautiful homes I've been able to work with are located in Deephaven. With the "average" home sale price of $818K you can find a pretty fantastic property here!

Deephaven, one of the many little hamlets that dot the shores of Lake Minnetonka, is less than 25 minutes from Minneapolis. Within its tiny frame of two square miles, Deephaven offers 76 acres of parkland and six beaches and is home to the Minnetonka Yacht Club, founded in 1882.

“Main Street,” along Minnetonka Boulevard, presents a delightful array of small shops and restaurants. Within Deephaven you will find 6 beaches with Deephaven beach being the largest.
Pros
  • The General Store!
  • 6 City Beaches
  • MN Yacht Club

"If only there were more cities like Deephaven"

It's too bad every city isn't like Deephaven. Close to the city but a small town "woodsy" feel. There are some incredible homes in Deephaven and the lake lots are stunning. The city itself isn't very big, but if your into doing business in the city you live you don't have to go very far. There is no shortage of health and beauty options, there are places to shop, eat, and play.
Pros
  • Scenic
  • Close to everything
  • Quiet and friendly

Deephaven is a very sought after neighborhood and location. Highlighted by large lots and grand homes including some of the best lakeshore on Lake Minnetonka. Plenty of shopping and dining options nearby along with health clubs, spas and yoga. "New England small town feel!"

I love small communities on the water and Deephaven area excels at this! Located on the SE shores of Lake Minnetonka tucked away, yet close in! Home to the Minnetonka yacht club it abounds with sail boats silently moving through the pristine waters. The center point jewel might well be the Cottagewood general store where wood floors creak with fond memories.
Average home prices are in the mid 400 range, populated predominately with mid 40 year range households. This is a very sought after area. And, one I'd love to call home!
Pros
  • Sailing community
  • Cottagewood General Store
  • quite community
