"Wonderful Windom"

Windom is the stepping stone to all the other great SW Minneapolis neighborhoods. We are conveniently located near the intersection of 35W and Crosstown 62. Lyndale, Nicollet and W 54th St are the major collector routes. There is a wonderfully diverse population and a great and affordable selection of housing options. The major retail areas are 54th and Lyndale and Nicollet, 60th and Nicollet and 61st and Lyndale. We are home to Bachmans anchor store and headquarters, Kowalskis and Cub Foods. One thing to note, that is not listed on the site, is that Perkins is no longer there but has been replaced by the very first two story Goodwill donation and retail outlet.
Everything above is great but the real feel of Windom has to be experienced by just walking throughout the neighborhood. The people are THE BEST part of our neighborhood. Just go for a walk after supper or on the weekends and you will be greeted by lots of others out doing the same thing. My wife Teri and I have made so many friends all through the neighborhood just by walking or biking. Very often our walks take a little longer or are a bit shorter because we have stopped to chat about the new baby, the work being done at the home, gleaning any and all gardening tips we can or just saying hello and spending time getting to know our neighbors. Isn't this what a great neighborhood is supposed to be about? We love living here and plan on being residents for many years to come.
